Castore Calls Upon the Nation to Retitle the Approach to SW19, Murray Mile in Homage of Andy Murray

Castore Calls Upon the Nation to Retitle the Approach to SW19, Murray Mile in Homage of Andy Murray

Castore is today championing a new cause to retitle the 1.3 mile Church Road in SW19 to Murray Mile in homage to one of Britain’s greatest ever sporting talents.

Since 1877, SW19 has had a home on Church Road. Infamous for its queues, it’s the last step for people to see some of the best tennis stars in the world and is 1.3 miles in length from Wimbledon Rail Station.

In a passionate display of support for Castore ambassador and investor Andy Murray's on court achievements, we have proudly announced our mission to levy Merton Council to make the name change permanent.

Members of the general public can show their support by signing the petition on Change.org and wear Castore’s coveted Tennis collection, to make the change everlasting to match Murray’s enduring legacy on SW19.

Tom Beahon, Castore Co-Founder said: “Andy’s legacy is unequalled. His desire to compete and push himself beyond his limits in order to win is inspiring.  It only makes sense that the SW19 site where he achieved greatness should immortalise his excellence.  As an ambassador and investor, he embodies our better never stops mentality both on and off the court and we hope the public join us in celebrating his achievements with a permanent legacy.”

The light-hearted campaign in support of one of Castore’s ambassadors and investors since 2019, is part of the our ongoing commitment to inspire and support athletes and competitors in their pursuit of better.

Andy Murray’s legendary achievements include: 1,001 matches, 6,520 aces, 17 broken bones, 8 coaches, 5 operations, 3 grand slams, 2 Olympic golds. Underpinning Castore's core belief - Better Never Stops.
