Our journey began on Merseyside with brothers Tom and Phil Beahon and an ambition to challenge the established giants of global sportswear. With no industry connections or traditional backing, the business was built through resilience, self-belief, and an obsession with creating better-performing apparel. The name Castore itself was inspired by Castor and Pollux, the twin brothers from Greek mythology known for challenging the gods, reflecting the founders’ own ambition to disrupt the industry’s biggest names.

In the earliest days, Castore operated from their mother’s kitchen table in Liverpool, where every order was packed by hand before being carried to the local post office. After facing rejection from traditional investors, the brothers funded the business through personal loans and family sacrifice, before travelling to Portugal to partner directly with specialist factories willing to help engineer a truly premium performance product.
