Better Never Stops: Ten Years of Castore
2016 - Built from Belief
Castore began with two brothers from Merseyside and an idea they couldn’t ignore. Tom and Phil Beahon weren’t fashion insiders or backed by industry connections. One pursued football, the other cricket and whilst those careers didn’t unfold as planned, they saw an opportunity. Performance sportswear had lost its edge. Castore would put performance first again.
The early days were built on belief, resilience, and sacrifice. Their parents remortgaged the family home to help launch the business, a moment that became foundational to Castore’s identity. From day one the ambition was clear, create premium sportswear engineered for athletes who demand more.
“No one expected us to succeed, but that’s exactly why to us it was the only viable option.” - Tom Beahon, Co-Founder
2017-2018 - Building the Foundations
In the years that followed, Castore focused relentlessly on refining quality, fit, and technical innovation. Every decision centred around creating apparel that performed at the highest level while carrying a distinctly premium feel.
Slowly, momentum began to build. Athletes and customers recognised something different about Castore. Technical apparel designed with precision, purpose, and understated sophistication. While others chased hype, Castore concentrated on earning trust piece by piece.
2019 - The Return
2019 became a pivotal story point for Castore with the signing of Andy Murray, one of Britain’s greatest athletes, at a moment when his future in tennis was far from certain. Following career-threatening hip surgery, Murray was fighting to return to the sport he had helped define. For Castore, the partnership was more than a statement of ambition. It was a commitment to support an athlete whose resilience, standards, and refusal to accept limits reflected the brand’s own mindset.
Later that year, Murray completed one of the great comeback stories in modern sport by winning the European Open, his first ATP singles title since surgery. It was a moment that resonated far beyond tennis. Proof of what can happen when belief is matched by work, patience, and uncompromising support.
2020-2021 - From Challenger to Global Stage
This was the moment in our history that Castore started to feel impossible to ignore. What began as a challenger was now appearing in the places fans cared about most, on matchdays, on podiums, on race weekends, and across some of the biggest stages in sport.
Glasgow Rangers became the first major Technical Kit partnership and marked it with an unforgettable unbeaten Scottish Premiership title win. It was the kind of season supporters remember for a lifetime, with the brand part of the story every step of the way.
The move into Formula 1 through McLaren Formula 1 Team took that momentum into one of the fastest, most demanding, and most watched sporting environments in the world. The Reiss collaboration added another dimension too, blending performance with modern British style and showing how far the journey had already come.
2022 - World Champions
In 2022, Castore athlete Matt Fitzpatrick secured a historic victory at the U.S. Open, one of golf’s most iconic stages and a defining moment for both athlete and brand.
That same year, England cricket team became ICC Men’s T20 World Cup champions, delivering one of the biggest moments in the brand’s growing sporting journey.
2023-2024 - Historic Seasons
Castore’s presence across elite sport continued to grow rapidly. Partnerships expanded across football, rugby, cricket, and Formula 1, with title-winning moments arriving across multiple leagues and competitions.
In Formula 1, Oracle Red Bull Racing entered a dominant new era, while Feyenoord secured the Eredivisie title in their first season wearing Castore. Athletic Club also ended a 40-year wait for major silverware by lifting the Copa del Rey, an emotional moment for one of football’s most historic clubs.
Then came one of the greatest football seasons in modern history. Bayer 04 Leverkusen completed an unbeaten domestic campaign, winning both the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal in a season that captured the imagination of the sporting world.
Across every sport, the role remained the same, supporting athletes and teams when history was waiting to be written.
2025-2026 - Defining a Decade
By 2025, Castore had become part of some of the biggest moments in world sport. Between McLaren Formula 1 Team and Oracle Red Bull Racing, Castore regularly featured at the front of the Formula 1 grid, while a new generation of athletes helped shape the future of rugby and cricket, including Ben Duckett, Cadan Murley, Maddie Feaunati, and Tatyana Heard.
2025 also delivered landmark moments across team sport. Bath Rugby completed a historic treble-winning season, while the Red Roses lifted the Women’s Rugby World Cup on home soil in front of a new generation of supporters.
On Merseyside, Everton played their final match at the historic Goodison Park before beginning a new chapter at Hill Dickinson Stadium on the banks of the River Mersey. A moment filled with emotion, heritage, and optimism for the future.
As Castore entered its tenth year, the business continued expanding its footprint beyond sport. Collaborations with Paul Smith, the iconic British fashion house known for timeless design with a playful edge, the acquisition of Belstaff, a century-old British outerwear brand rooted in adventure and motorcycle culture, and later Grenson in 2026, a Northamptonshire shoemaker handcrafting footwear since 1866, reinforced Castore’s growing position within modern British premium apparel and craftsmanship and the forming of Castore Group.
That same year, Castore partnered with Rugby Australia ahead of a home Rugby World Cup in 2027, another sign of the brand’s growing presence on the global sporting stage.
Ten years after two brothers from Merseyside took a chance on an idea, Castore entered 2026 as one of Britain’s defining performance brands. But the philosophy that started it all remains unchanged:
Better Never Stops.
“As Castore reaches our 10 year anniversary, the ambition which has defined us from day one burns brighter than ever.” – Tom Beahon, Co-Founder
