Unbreakable Spirit: Built for the World Stage

Setting the Standard

There’s no off switch at this level. No corners cut. No detail ignored.

Inside the Red Roses' high-performance camp, every session is intentional. Every rep has purpose. Every moment is an opportunity to raise the bar - not just for yourself, but for everyone beside you.

For Castore athletes Maddie Feaunati and Tatyana Heard, this moment is a convergence of discipline, belief, and preparation. One is stepping onto the world stage for the first time. The other returns with the clarity only experience brings. But both are united by a single mindset:

standard-setters don’t follow. They lead.

Building the Base

“I’ve prioritised agility and match-speed drills - cone work, ladder routines, and circuits that mimic real-game pressure. The goal is to stay sharp when fatigue kicks in.” - Tatyana Heard

Mornings start with movement. But not just any movement - functional strength, explosive speed, and reactive control.
For Maddie, the focus has been building a base of powerful, controlled strength: sled pushes, sprint intervals, and trap bar deadlifts.

“But I’ve also learned that mobility can’t be optional,” she says. “Yoga and stretching are now non-negotiable. They keep me moving well and ready.”
Tatyana’s approach - refined by experience - has shifted toward smarter, sharper training.

Both players have leaned into Zone 2 training - low-intensity
aerobic sessions that build deep endurance without overloading the nervous
system.

“It’s a game-changer,” they agree. “You feel it late in a match - your body can
just keep going.”

Mindset Is the Method

“I visualise everything - from the first whistle to the final play.” - Maddie
Feaunati

The best athletes don’t just train harder - they train with intent. And that intent starts in the mind.

“I visualise everything - from the first whistle to the final play,” says Maddie. “It helps me stay calm and in control. With the excitement of playing on home soil, I know there’ll be new moments. I’m ready to embrace them.”

For Tatyana, performance begins with presence. “Game day is about focus - but also joy. That’s when I play my best. Breathwork, playlists, and a consistent warm-up keep me grounded. I look at teams like the Lionesses - competing at the highest level but still enjoying it. That joy makes you more fluid, more connected. It shows in how you play.”

Recovery as a Weapon

“In pre-season, it’s all about slow strength, mobility and injury prevention. But when you’re competing back-to-back, recovery becomes a race against time. Everything has to be precise - compression boots, recovery pools, smart fuelling. You can’t afford to switch off.” - Tatyana Heard

At this level, recovery isn’t rest - it’s readiness.

Castore’s high-performance kit becomes part of that recovery system. Designed for the unique demands of elite female athletes, it delivers on fit, feel, and functionality.

“You can feel the difference,” says Maddie. “It gives you the confidence to train and perform at your best.”

Three Moves That Build Performance for the World Stage

1) Eccentric Tempo Bulgarian Split Squats - Builds lower-body strength, control and hip stability. “Essential for explosive sprints and sidesteps.” - Maddie

2) Reactive Agility Ladder + Sprint Combo - Sharpens foot speed, reaction time, and game-specific movement. “It mirrors match demands - quick, sharp, relentless.” - Tatyana

3) Med Ball Slam to Burpee
Blends rotational power with full-body conditioning. - “It’s all about fast, explosive energy. I love it.” - Maddie

The Final Push

Inside the Red Roses' camp, nothing is wasted. Every movement, every mindset shift, every piece of kit is part of the preparation. It’s not about hype. It’s about discipline, precision and purpose.

As the tournament approaches, the pressure builds. But so does the readiness. These aren’t just players. They’re leaders. They’re standard bearers - for their team, their sport, and the next generation.
