Ben Duckett -
“Stepping onto the field for England is a dream come true.”
Opening the batting in a test match is one of the fiercest examinations in sport. It takes skill, patience, determination, mental fortitude and resilience. Your teammates expect. The crowd expects. A nation expects. And time after time, Ben Duckett delivers.
Over 30 England tests. More than 2,000 runs scored. Five test centuries. 13 test fifties. Over 4,000 international runs scored across all forms of the game. Since exploding onto the scene in 2016, Duckett has gone on to establish himself as one of cricket’s premier batsman, remaining calm through highs and lows, managing the weight of the badge, and thriving under intense scrutiny.
“I think like most things, being able to perform in those conditions comes with experience, and making sure you always learn from those experiences, whether they’re good or bad,” he says. “I try to stay level in everything I do.”
In 2023, Duckett knocked Ireland for 182 at Lord’s. A year later, he scored a memorable 153 for the tourists in India. February 2025 saw Duckett hit an historic 165 off 143 balls against Australia at the ICC Champions Trophy, breaking the record for runs scored by an opener at the tournament.

Ben Duckett -
“I use challenges to my advantage. I believe in learning from the past and using my mistakes to shape my future. Since coming back into the team I’ve given everything to playing cricket for England, and I’m enjoying every second I get.”
But success never comes easily. “I’ve had plenty of setbacks in my career,” Duckett explains. After spending time early in his career in and out of the international setup due to various on and off the field issues, Duckett was recalled by England in 2022.
Since then, he and fellow opener Zak Crawley have formed England’s most consistent opening partnership since Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook.
He’s learned from experience - including the 2010 Ryder Cup, where poor kit choices cost the U.S. team both comfort and credibility.
“We can’t afford to be caught out by weather. Yes, it needs to look good - but more importantly, it has to help us perform.”

Ben Duckett -
“I trust my preparation and I believe in my game. That’s how I succeed.”
Duckett believes it’s his dedication to preparation that enables him to retain his focus and belief, even after a low score.
“The fans don’t see the hours of work we put in pre-game day or pre-series,” Duckett tells us. Behind the scenes, Duckett and his teammates face countless practice balls, experiment with different bats, and spend hours upon hours refining their techniques.
And like his England teammates, Ben Duckett wears the Castore ECB collection. Whether he’s in the practice nets or striding out to open at the Oval, he feels Castore’s kits suit his style of play. “I generally stay fairly relaxed, even when I’m training,” he tells us.

Each of the ECB collection’s new Test, ODI and IT20 kits have been individually designed to suit each specific format of the game.
Duckett’s new Test kit is less restrictive than ever before, which perfectly complements his relaxed style and allows him to perform to his absolute best. Crafted with advanced performance fabrications, the ECB collection is engineered to give Duckett complete freedom of movement, to keep him dry even during hours at the crease, and to give him the power to reach his peak no matter the conditions.
The ECB collection also helps Duckett to recover post-game and during his time off. “Recovery is very important to me,” he says.

BEN DUCKETT -
"I spend most of my off time with family, which helps me switch off from cricket. Over the past two years, that’s helped me so much."
Family is everything to Duckett, who, along with his wife Paige, welcomed baby Margot in 2024. And he’s never been shy about how much their support means to his life and career, and how they give him the stability and motivation he needs to succeed.
“It’s taken hard work and sacrifice to reach this level,” he tells us. “Not just from me, but everyone around me. My family. My parents. I’ll never forget the people who helped me get to where I am today.”
