Boxing Workout Tips with Hamzah Sheeraz

Boxing Workout Tips with Hamzah Sheeraz

We're thrilled to announce our recent partnership with Hamzah Sheeraz, a rising star in the world of professional boxing.

In the world of boxing, few have made a mark quite like Hamzah Sheeraz. With a rapid ascent in the sport, he embodies the dedication, mental fortitude, and strategic thinking that aspiring boxers can learn from. Here are some invaluable tips and insights from Sheeraz that can help you improve your boxing performance.

  1. Stay Driven and Grateful
"I’ve worked so hard to be in this position I am in, and I don’t take this for granted.” Recognising the efforts of those who support you—coaches, trainers, and loved ones—fuels your desire to push beyond your limits.

Tip: Regularly reflect on your journey and appreciate the people who help you along the way. This gratitude can serve as a powerful motivator.

    1. Commit Fully to Your Training

"From the day I start camp until the fight is complete, my usual life is on hold. This means no social events or distractions—just boxing, strength training, conditioning, and recovery.”

    • Sunday Hikes: To recharge mentally, Hamzah takes hikes in Griffith Park, LA, on his weekly rest day.
    • Focus: By devoting himself entirely to his camp, Hamzah ensures that he’s prepared come fight night.
Tip: Create a structured training schedule that prioritises your boxing commitments while allowing for mental breaks to maintain focus.
    1. Evolve Your Training Technique
As Sheeraz progresses in his career, he fine-tunes his training camps. One significant change is having a personal chef who prepares nutritious meals throughout the camp. "I’ve been able to eat tastier food that’s made me feel stronger and happier," he notes.

Tip: Invest in your nutrition. Consider working with a nutritionist or meal prep service to ensure you’re fuelling your body with the right foods for optimal performance.

    1. Mastering the Mental Game

Sheeraz believes that mental strength is crucial in boxing. “Praying and having faith in god, no matter your religion or beliefs, it’s important to have that element in all walks of life.”

Tip: Develop a pre-fight mental routine that includes visualisation techniques or mindfulness practices to enhance your focus and calmness before stepping into the ring.

    1. Embrace a Strong Philosophy

Sheeraz resonates deeply with Castore's mantra 'Better Never Stops': "This is one of the reasons why I find myself so connected with Castore as a brand." This philosophy reflects his relentless pursuit of improvement.

Tip: Adopt a personal mantra or philosophy that inspires you to keep pushing forward, no matter the challenges you face.

    1. Choose the Right Performance Wear and Stick to It
When it comes to training apparel, Sheeraz relies heavily on Castore sportswear: "I go through 3-4 sets of Castore gym clothing a day." The comfort and functionality of high-quality athletic wear can enhance performance during intense training sessions.

Tip: Invest in quality training wear that allows for freedom of movement and supports your performance during workouts.

    1. Live in the Moment
Hamzah lives by one simple motto: "To live in the present moment." This approach helps him focus entirely on each task at hand—whether running or sparring—leading to greater enjoyment and less pre fight anxiety.

Tip: Practice mindfulness during your training sessions by concentrating fully on what you’re doing at that moment.

    1. Advice for Aspiring Boxers

Finally, Sheeraz has two key pieces of advice for those just starting their boxing journey:

    1. Train Hard: Consistent effort is essential.
    1. Be Patient: Progress may take longer than expected, but hard work will always pay off.

By following these insights from Hamzah Sheeraz, you can enhance your boxing skills and mindset, paving the way for success both inside and outside the ring. Remember, every champion was once a contender who refused to give up.
